This session will illustrate a variety of strategies to work with comics (graphic novels, bande dessinée and manga) in language classes at any level of proficiency. It will also highlight some narrative techniques used in comics and how they help students enhance their reading and analytical skills. Finally, a collaborative project between students of Japanese and students of French, exploring cultural differences and connections through a Japanese manga will be presented.
