Limited Capacity seats available

Knowing approximately 3,000 characters allows a user to be proficient in Chinese, but learning characters can be a daunting task. To enhance L2 students' knowledge of characters, this session will focus on connecting sound-form-meaning association and cultural context. Activities such as word games, practice of calligraphy, and story telling can help students build metalinguistic and cultural awareness. The implication of character proficiency in a multilingual program with a Chinese component will also be discussed. In Mandarin.
